- Ever since installing copilot on mobile, it’s now incorrectly launching that to open links. If you click again, it takes to the right app/location. Googled, couldn’t find anything. Will debug further if it continues to be an annoyance.

- Home, and to add to 2024 taxes:
- Bonus depreciation. Write off a large purchase at day 1, rather than depreciating its value over time (regular depreciation, no bonus).
- STR loophole. Short-term-rental investment properties actually qualify for this (even though they almost always appreciate). You can deduct the entire cost of the home to offset rental income for the year (or w2, or other).
- The process of valuating/deducting the bonus depreciation is called Cost Segregation. Usually costs a couple thousand to outsource.

- All mollusks (clams/oysters/mussels) can product pearls, but oysters most common. It’s the same material as the shell; they produce it to quarantine any irritants (usually grains of sand) that get inside. A small pearl takes a few months to form. A large pearl ~5yrs.

- QSBS = Qualified Small Business Stock. If you hold equity in a company worth less than $50M, those cap gains are exempt from federal tax (under most conditions).
- IRS Form 83(b). Basically an election to pay tax on appreciating equity fully at grant, rather than over vesting schedule, as taxable value increases.
- US Code Section 351. Contribute asset/IP to corporation with (subjectively) equivalent value in exchange for the equity, reducing taxable gain to 0. Must become controller in company (can’t do this for every hire).
