• Monday

    • Admirals club at LAX for the first time, was nice. Breakfast, coffee, lounge, shower. I had a few hours after dropoff so it was worth it.
    • Suitcase was 65lbs (and not even packed full) but with the first class ticket they waive the excess.
    • Cleaned up, color coded, did some organization in my Google Keep notes.
    • Remember the threshold to call bear, officially, is 20%.
    • 24hr fitness cancellation was processed and confirmed. There was prorated refund.
    • Robinhood was down for 20 hours yesterday, yikes. Large oversight. There were multiple issues, but a glaring one was a calendar.isleap() bug, since yesterday was the first trading day after feb 29th, and the system went down right after opening bell. The same error happened 4 years ago on their platform.
    • Arrived in NYC! AirTrain from JFK to the Jamaica station, then E train nonstop into manhattan. Took about 2 hours from landing to door, maybe 30min less if you don’t have a checked bag to claim.
    • The place is very nice. Gonna need to do some additional furnishing, but the sauna/gym/pool/basketball/lounge/packages/golf/etc amenities are great.
    • I’m 20ft from the late show with stephen colbert.

    • Submitted the request online to cancel my 24hr fitness membership.

    • Last day in LA. Last supper = Indian. Never a question.
  • Saturday

    • There’s a fitness center/sauna/yoga/basketball/etc in the new housing, so I don’t need 24 anymore. Will cancel tomorrow. Payment cycle is on the 10th, so I’m 2/3 in.

    • Corona stock has plummeted due to coronavirus, even though they’re completely unrelated.

  • Friday

    • Packers came to box and load everything. 3 hours total, 3 guys. Under 3k lbs total; they had done a house with >16k the day prior.
    • Donated over 100 items of primary clothing!
    • Investment transfer cleared. 60k to play with unencumbered in the next couple weeks.
    • Officially changed address with USPS. Played around a bit with mymove.com. Will get the new license at the DMV in NY, and will handle voter registration later.
    • letsencrypt issued its billionth cert yesterday. Amazing. https://letsencrypt.org/2020/02/27/one-billion-certs.html. Https encryption has risen from around 60% to 90% over the last couple years.
    • Called BoA again, no update from the loan officer. Citi hasn’t been the most punctual either. Things have sure changed in a decade!
    • Delivered the smoker to Petty’s.
    • Briley came, full truck load and couch.
    • The instant deposit limit for rh is actually proportional to your spending power, jumping from 10k to much higher.
    • The secondary trip home is only offered by altair if you haven’t moved your household goods yet, so I’m ineligible for the bay flight.
    • Saw The Invisible Man.

    • REIT = real estate investment trust, companies that own property that you can invest in, trades like stock. REF = real estate fund, just a mutual fund that focuses on public real estate companies.

    • The Gentle Barn is a nonprofit in LA that will help re-home your pets. Emeraldscales.com is a great one specifically for reptiles, something like $50 for shipping. Petco will only take reptiles back if you have the paperwork to prove that you bought it at that location.
  • Wednesday

    • Finished season 3 of Billions, just one more.
    • Bob Iger stepped down a bit early, Bob Chapek to step up.
    • Scanned and sent back the signed lease for temp housing.
    • Ocean Diner with briley.
    • Healthnet through Mar 1. Employer starts Apr 1 likely.
    • Sherisse inspection. All the usual cleaning, plus blinds and windows. Estimate: $560. Round to 600 worst case, 2500 deposit, briley gets 400 for cat, then we each get 750 after that. She’ll mail the check to him.
    • Significant work on the house. Went through: living room, kitchen, bathroom, hallway/cabinet, balcony. The only remaining spaces are the bedroom and the garage.

    • Went to Kings vs Penguins (Sidney Crosby) at Staples, 3 times in 1 week. Upset!
    • Paid the toll online for 73 south to Laguna woods last night, $8.65 for a few miles. Absolutely ridiculous. Worth a detour next time.

    • Followed up with the boa loan to discuss variable rates.

      • The village, greenwich, washinton state park, west, east, NYU. Liberal, young.
      • Midtown does have some residential. Lot of flux, mostly business.
      • Upper east and west side neighboring central park. Cool areas. Little more expensive than the village.
      • Recreation and softball and such in all the parks.
      • Most highrises DO have a parking garage! Or one nearby. Can fit 3 bikes in 1 spot, shouldn’t be too much a month. Driving out of town to the beach is amazing in the summer. Will also be useful just around town when I need it. Definitely keep the motorcycles.
      • If I need anything else off my plate (doctor lookup, garage finding, sports leagues, etc), just call or email her.
      • Would advise renting for a bit then buying.
