Foreign tax credit for the first time, a whopping $15 from STX (Ireland) and TSM (Taiwan).

- Did a virtual survey of all my household goods with the moving agent. Estimated ship weight. I’m on the very small end. Confirmed pack date for next friday.
- Hockey rinks are actively cooled from underneath. The ice is only about 1 inch thick. The zamboni deposits a new thin layer that freezes. The ambient temp is kept around 60F.

- Spoke with Altair about the full relocation package. Lots to do. Packing assessment, flights, temp housing, homebuying research, selling a lot of current items.
- Ejection seats on helicopters are very uncommon. It’s newer. Most jettison the rotors to clear the way, then eject the seat or whole cockpit.
- Bought new wallet. Bought new large suitcase for the temp period.

- Preferred lender; the seller or build usually has some sort of partnership with lender(s). This has pros and cons, usually. Faster timelines, higher interest rates, lower competition, examples.

- Looked through a bit of NYC on redfin. Tracy suggested the villages, east, west, greenwich, noho, nolita, lower east side. Condo. There are tons of options for 1br1ba anywhere from 500k-1m. There are spots in midtown around the office as well.
- Most likely process: no homefinding trip, temp housing for <60 days, rent for ~6 months, buy. This gives time to establish bearings, find the right neighborhood, and build pay stubs for the loan. An inversion is expected this year for the shift from a seller’s to a buyer’s market, which helps me also.
- Booked the one-way flight through BCD. LAX->JFK. Monday March 2. Submitted reimbursement request.

- CA and NY have state income taxes that progress in brackets, like federal. CA is the highest in the country, from 1-13.3%. NY is 4-8.82%.
