    • Spoke with Altair about the full relocation package. Lots to do. Packing assessment, flights, temp housing, homebuying research, selling a lot of current items.
    • Ejection seats on helicopters are very uncommon. It’s newer. Most jettison the rotors to clear the way, then eject the seat or whole cockpit.
    • Bought new wallet. Bought new large suitcase for the temp period.
    • Itertools really does have some lesser-known gems. A lot of python folks I know don’t use them. https://martinheinz.dev/blog/16. Accumulate, cycle, much more.
    • Started scheduling the bay trip as well.
    • Preferred lender; the seller or build usually has some sort of partnership with lender(s). This has pros and cons, usually. Faster timelines, higher interest rates, lower competition, examples.
    • Got the preferred lender list for citadel/altair.
    • Did the online prequalification with BoA, set up an appointment tomorrow for the preapproval.
    • Looked through a bit of NYC on redfin. Tracy suggested the villages, east, west, greenwich, noho, nolita, lower east side. Condo. There are tons of options for 1br1ba anywhere from 500k-1m. There are spots in midtown around the office as well.
    • Most likely process: no homefinding trip, temp housing for <60 days, rent for ~6 months, buy. This gives time to establish bearings, find the right neighborhood, and build pay stubs for the loan. An inversion is expected this year for the shift from a seller’s to a buyer’s market, which helps me also.
    • Booked the one-way flight through BCD. LAX->JFK. Monday March 2. Submitted reimbursement request.
    • Scheduled dinner with Joyce and Leo before I leave.
    • Scheduled a call for tomorrow with the impact group; integrating into a new city, recreation, groups, sports, etc.
    • Went to the Kings game at Staples.
    • Contacted the van lines homemover (paramount). We’ll do a quick phone survey tomorrow morning for estimated weight of all items, then target next friday feb 28 as the pack day.
