Ordered new conical burr grinder and a better drip machine.
Looks like FSB will offer 3.25 for a 30yr fixed.
Got both preapproval letters now.
Stock trading halted for 15 minutes right after opening bell when the S&P fell 7%. This triggers automatically. Level 2 (which we did not reach) is another 15min halt at 13%. Level 3 is at 20%, where trading is halted for the remainder of the day. These have only been around for a few years, and are only really meant to stop algos from destabilizing.
Looked through a ton of listings, sent preferences to peter for tours tomorrow.

Placed orders to liquidate all my robinhood holdings. Going conservative for all the chaos lately, as well as moving the funds into a down payment for a home out here.
They didn’t execute for a few hours, so I tried to cancel the sell orders. The button just spun, didn’t get confirmation of execution or cancelling. It’s not just a lack of bids, the actual service wasn’t even working because cancellations were nonfunctional.
Lots of other people confirming the same thing.
RH is such a shit platform. This, the infinite margin glitch, the leapyear bug, the downtime.
6 hours later, the orders finally failed (instead of pending). This was before close, so I placed them again and they executed. Maybe 3k loss since Friday?
Starting zeroing out the account. Have to do it incrementally (the max withdrawal in a trading day is 50k), and the proceeds from my sellout need to settle.
Rated it 1 star in the app store (lowest rating). Uninstalled.
Will move everything to TD or Schwab after this coronavirus recession and my mortgage are in a good place.
I’ll look for class actions in the future.
John’s of Bleecker review from yesterday: Delicious. Not GOAT, but delicious. I was more impressed with efficiency: it was 5pm on a Sunday, and I got in and out with a beer and large pizza in under 30min.
A very interesting take on anxiety: it’s the immune system of the mind. Uses old attacks to figure out how to handle new attacks. https://www.adamjuliangoldstein.com/blog/anxiety-algorithm/. This type of flexibility is incredible, and it must be to mitigate novel threats, but it also means that it jumps to worst-case scenarios sometimes. Understand that, and ride with it. Separate the thought from reality.
Remember that corona usually presents as a fever and a cough first. A healthy immune system will fight it off like a cold.
Healthcare professionals are testing and evaluating patients by phone primarily, and then in their cars secondarily to avoid them coming into the clinic/elevator/etc.
0.7% dilution.
Llama San with Tracy! A peruvian/japanese place.
Sooooo nice to see a familiar face. Was the first time in over a week I’ve had an in-person convo with someone I know.
2 bartenders were from the East Bay back home!
Dry cleaned my blue suit and all dress shirts. Will deliver back in 48 hours.
It’s basically the same logistics as the laundering process, soak and then spin, but it uses perchlorethylene instead of soap/detergent for the soak part. Perc is still a liquid, not a gas, so it’s not technically “dry”.
Don’t do it every week. It wears the fabric out more quickly. Maybe once a year for suits, or acute treatment as spills/stains happen.
Everything in NY is so expensive. Townhouses that share walls are 20-30 mil. Rent is 3-6k. Dinner is $100.
Bridge and tunnel people = people from new jersey or brooklyn etc who come into manhattan.
More subdistricts: meatpacking, hudson yards, alphabet city.
Trains are way easier north-south than east-west.
Live in the west, go out in the east.
Most people go out to dinner many nights per week. Kitchens are tiny at home. The villages have great food.
